This year, in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of Mount Fuji’s World Heritage registration, the inaugural ‘FUJI TEXTILE WEEK 2023 Photo Contest’ will be held. The contest will have two phases: Phase 1 from September 18th (Monday, national holiday) to November 6th (Monday), and Phase 2 from November 7th (Tuesday) to December 17th (Sunday). Participants are encouraged to post photos on Instagram with the themes ‘Mount Fuji Landscape’ and ‘Fujiyoshida Townscape’.
The selected works will be turned into posters and adorn the venue during the FUJI TEXTILE WEEK 2023 event!
For those who win in the first phase of submissions before the start of ‘FUJI TEXTILE WEEK 2023,’ their works will be transformed into posters and displayed throughout the city of Fujiyoshida, where the event takes place, during the event period. This will allow visitors to experience the charm of ‘Mount Fuji’ and ‘Fujiyoshida.’ Since individuals can submit multiple entries, this is an excellent opportunity to capture your own unique images of ‘Mount Fuji’ and ‘Fujiyoshida’ within the city of Fujiyoshida. Please join us in the event by all means.!

The second phase of submissions will be accepted from the day after the end of the first phase, continuing throughout the ‘FUJI TEXTILE WEEK 2023’ event. This year, in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of Mount Fuji’s World Heritage registration, we are introducing the special access program ‘FUJI SKY ROOF’ at prime Mount Fuji viewing locations for the first time. Within Fujiyoshida, there are hidden spots with extraordinary views of Mount Fuji, such as rooftops of buildings not typically open to the public. Seize this opportunity to capture the sight of Mount Fuji that you wouldn’t normally see, and be sure to submit your photos to this photo contest!
We will conduct a rigorous selection process for submitted works in each phase, and those who are awarded will receive prizes that allow them to fully enjoy Fujiyoshida, at the foot of Mount Fuji. Prizes include accommodation vouchers for inns, popular products from Fujiyoshida’s textile brand, which has a history of over a thousand years, and dining vouchers to explore the retro atmosphere of the ‘Nishiura’ area, known for its Showa-era charm.

◾️Application method: You can apply as many times as you like.
① Follow both ‘@fujitextileweek’ and ‘@city_fujiyoshida’ on Instagram.
② Capture photos with the theme ‘Borrowed Scenery of Mount Fuji’ or ‘The Streets of Fujiyoshida’ from within the city of Fujiyoshida.
③ When posting, include the caption with ‘#fujitextileweek’ or ‘#フジテキスタイルウィーク’ and for Phase 1 submission, add ‘#ftw2023photo01,’ and for Phase 2 submission, add ‘#ftw2023photo02.’
