This year, in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of Mount Fuji’s inscription as a World Cultural Heritage site, the inaugural “FUJI TEXTILE WEEK 2023 Photo Contest” has been scheduled. The contest will be divided into two periods: the first period will run from September 18 (Monday, national holiday) to November 6 (Monday), and the second period will be from November 7 (Tuesday) to December 17 (Sunday). Participants are invited to submit photos themed around “Fuji as a Scenic Background” and “Cityscape of Fujiyoshida” on Instagram during these respective periods.
The selected works will be featured as posters during the “FUJI TEXTILE WEEK 2023,” adding a vibrant touch to the venue throughout the event period!
For those who win in the first phase, where submissions are accepted before the official start of “FUJI TEXTILE WEEK 2023,” their works will be transformed into posters and displayed in Fujiyoshida City, the venue during the event period. This exhibition aims to showcase the charm of “Mount Fuji” and the “Cityscape of Fujiyoshida” to all visitors. As each individual is allowed to submit multiple entries, this is a great opportunity for everyone to capture their own perspectives of “Mount Fuji” and the “Cityscape of Fujiyoshida” within the city. We encourage you to take this chance and submit your unique photographs!
During the “FUJI TEXTILE WEEK 2023” event, capture photos from the hidden and breathtaking Mount Fuji viewpoint, the “FUJI SKY ROOF,” and submit them for the contest!
The second phase of the contest will accept submissions from the day after the closure of the first phase until the end of “FUJI TEXTILE WEEK 2023.” In celebration of the 10th anniversary of Mount Fuji’s inscription as a World Cultural Heritage site this year, the special opening event “FUJI SKY ROOF” will be introduced for the first time. Throughout Fujiyoshida City, there are hidden viewpoints of Mount Fuji, including rooftop areas of buildings not usually accessible. Take this opportunity to capture the extraordinary sight of Mount Fuji from these special spots and submit your photos to this photo contest!
A rigorous selection process will be conducted for entries in each phase, and winners will receive prizes such as accommodation vouchers to fully enjoy Fujiyoshida City at the foot of Mount Fuji, popular products from the textile brand of Fujiyoshida, a region known for over a thousand years of textile production, and dining vouchers to explore the retro and atmospheric “Nishiura Area.”
